Protecting Your House

You’ve worked hard for the home you own and, in most cases, it’s your largest asset. AARP® Homeowners Insurance Program from The Hartford1 offers benefits and coverages that help you find just the right protection, including:

  • Extended Replacement Cost Coverage for your home
  • “New for Old” Replacement Cost Coverage for belongings
  • Lifetime Renewability†, a promise you won’t be cancelled as long as you pay your premiums and maintain your home

Just as you’ve created a home that reflects you, the AARP Homeowners Insurance offers several optional coverages you can add to customize protection specifically for your needs, such as:

  • Green Rebuilding – Increased coverage to rebuild or repair with eco-friendly materials.
  • Equipment Breakdown – Coverage that replaces electronics or appliances that are subject to mechanical or electrical breakdown.
  • Valuable Items “Blanket” Coverage – An easy way to protect jewelry, fine art and other higher value items.

Availability of benefits and features may vary by state or policy plan.

Coverage Built for Condos

If you own a condo, it may require different protection from a home, especially if your condo association is responsible for insuring the actual building or structure.

The Hartford’s condo coverage through the AARP Homeowners Insurance Program can help you protect the parts of your condo you are responsible for, as well your belongings.

Renters Need Protection, Too

If you rent, you may not own your home but you do own most everything in it. If something happens, your landlord’s insurance generally won’t provide replacement coverage for your possessions.

Renters coverage from the AARP Homeowners Insurance Program can help you protect the things that are important to you, at affordable rates.

Claims Service You Can Count On.

Home losses don’t keep normal business hours, so neither does The Hartford. Our Claims Hotline is available 24/7, staffed by customer care specialists who are ready to help you and provide service that is backed by The Hartford’s Claims Satisfaction Commitment.
